Fix a Leak Week Check List

There's only a few weeks until Fix a Leak Week (March 20 to March 26).  According to the EPA, up to 1 trillion gallons of water gets wasted in leaks every year.  That's bad for you water bill, and for the environment.  To help you get ready, here's a handy check list of leaks that you can look for today.  

1. Look at your water meter. and write down the numbers.  Turn off your faucets and anything that uses water. Check the meter 30-60 minutes later.  If the meter shows water use during that time, you probably have a leak. 
2. Check for drips from faucets, shower heads, and pipes 
3. Silent toilet leaks - you can use dye tablets to find these 
4. Leaks in pipes
