Enviro News: Winter Storm Jonas

Posted by on

Winter Storm Jonas, the storm that hit the east cost on Saturday, January 23rd, has had a large impact on many environments and the communities that depend on them.

Some towns in NJ are reporting greater flooding from Winter Storm Jonas than from Hurricane Sandy, according to CBS news.

Meanwhile, in the south, Philotown Virginia recorded a stunning 39 inches of snow, reports weather.com.   According to CBS news, the snow in Washington, D.C., has forced the Federal Government to remain shut down.

It's easy to forgot how powerful an influence nature can still exert on our lives. We ask our readers to take a moment to think about the importance of the environment and how the local environment influences life in your city, town, or suburb.

Here at NRG, we hope you were able to stay safe and warm during the storm, and we wish anyone still digging out the best of luck.
